Explorations of Texture
Texture is an important element often underexplored in traditional creative methods. It often creates an immediate and visceral response in the viewer. In my paintings, texture is a compelling element that adds visual interest and captures my emotional state.

Explorations of Color
I use color in the same way I use texture. Photographs capture a subject exactly as it appears. In painting, the use of color in expressive and fantastical ways lets the artist's presence be felt by the viewer. My use of color has been rapidly evolving as I explore and experiment.

A view of my process: Girl with Blue Headphones
A base color was chosen and painted onto the canvas in acrylic. Several layers followed to create a range of values. The base-color layer often acts as a mid-tone and provides a sense of luminosity.
